Today I walked into the EC classroom, after I had gone and checked in with my teacher cadet teacher, and a few of the girls, and bird, were just hanging out in the classroom. Gma and Lowa were the teachers in the class today. I walked around the room saying "Hi" to all the kids and just seeing what they were working on. Mama was playing with Smiles reading device thing, she was kind of messing it up to. She would shove like 5 cards into the slot all at once, but I made her take them all out and told her not to do it again.
I went over to another student and she was looking up words in the dictionary and I asked her how she was doing and she said "Good." and just looked up smiling. It was pretty cute.
I went to the back desk with Bird and looked at what he was doing. He's been doing a lot with states lately so he was writing down the states and their capitals. Me and Lowa decided to give Bird a little improv quiz and he got them all right. But he had only learned the east coast so far so I asked him about Minnesoda and he looked at me really confused and then started saying stuff like he was mad at himself for not knowing. Lowa was like "Bird, its fine! You havent even learned that state yet, its okay if you dont know it!" So he calmed down.
After that we all just kind of messed around until it was time for lunch, so all the kids put their stuff up, washed their hands and got their lunches. We headed down and met the kids at the workout room in the cafeteria. We all ate lunch together and nothing really exciting happened. Today, Kate wasnt there so Denae sat beside me and Amanda (where Kate usually sits).
Today was french fry day so of course Mama is having a meltdown waiting to get her food... she LOVES french fries. When we got her all of her food (she had a chicken sandwich) we sat down and put her fries to the side. The rule for her is that she cant have her fries or her Jello until she has finished her real food. I think Mama packed her own lunch today because all she had was two pieces of plain bread, a rotten banana, and a Jello. I dont think her mother would have packed that for her... but, who knows. So since her lunch was terrible, we just kind of discarded everything except for the Jello. I guess Mama likes the bread better because she at the top bun, the bottom bun, and then the chicken. I dont know why she did that, but as long as she ate the whole sandwich... its cool with me. So she got her french fries and I gave her some of mine, needless to say she was a very happy girl.
We all made it back up to the classroom and I thought I was doing my mini lesson, but my teacher didnt come because she didnt see it on the calender so I mostly just spent my time preparing for it. When I was done, I went to the main room for the kids reading comprehension lesson. It was on "flying snakes", so it was pretty interesting. And then at two o'clock, I bid them all farewell and I went to my next class.
It was a good day.
