Today we went bowling, and it was awesome. Most people think that like four hours bowling and eating with EC kids would get tiring after a while. Its not like that at all. Its so much fun to see the kids doing things that normal teenagers would do. Stuff like bowling and eating Wendy's with their friends. Or "Wennies", as my little buddy we will call "Glasses" says.
You can tell how much they look forward to bowling and, mostly, Wennies. But before we get to me coming into the room, I have to tell you about my "adventure". More like a nightmare. Well, at around 9:45 I went to the EC room to hang out before we leave because I figured that they would be in there. They weren't. I walked downstairs to the gym, they weren't there. Went to the auxiliary gym, not there. Their room again, not there. Outside, not there. By the buses, not there. THEN. I go to the ceramics room to meet Kate and inform her that they have ditched us and guess who we see running across the grounds? Mama, followed by Bird. They had been on the soccer field. When my panic attack was over, I was hot as mess and I was pretty mad. But as usual, I got into the room and it was well worth all that walking!
Like I was saying before, you can literally feel the excitement in Yoosh's room before the kids leave for bowling. I see all my buddies and they all greet me happily (its pretty precious). Everyone has peed, washed their hands, has their jackets, has their money, and twenty minutes later... we are out of there!
We get on the bus and I am in the back with Mama, Kate, Denae, Sorry, Bebe, and Mace. Kate gets out her phone and the first thing that Bran-man wants to hear is "Money In The Bank", ummmmm inappropriate much? Yes. So sweet little Bebe says "CAN I HAVE THIS DANCE!! HIGH SCHOOL MUSICAL!!" we all bust out laughing but Kate plays it and we are jamming. Bebe is singing really loudly and its really adorable.
We arrive at the bowling alley and they all run off. Once we herd them together again we all go to the last three bowling station. And so the fun continues. I was at a table with Smile, Hair, Glasses, Denae. Glasses wanted to do EVERYTHING by himself and didn't want any help. I had to prepare the rack for all of them, catch Smile when he bolted to the alley, and make sure Hair didn't drool on the bowling balls. All together the bowling alley was a smooth trip.
We finally made it to Wendy's and I had Sorry and Bebe to keep up with. Great pair. The two of them are always at each others throats. Sorry tries so hard to be accepted by Bebe but he ends up bugging them so much to where they don't want him to even be near them. Eating went a lot better than standing in line. Bebe always wants more food, its really funny. One time we were there and he stole some fries off of Kate's tray when she was talking to me. She wasn't very happy about that.
We all enjoyed this outing and I cant wait to go on another trip with these amazing kids.
You put me there right with you. Wish I really would have been there.
